Volunteer Program Manager - Andrea Cios

Andrea is the Volunteer Program Manager for Naperville Area Humane Society. Andrea received two Bachelor Degrees in Marketing and Business Management, with minors in Psychology and Human Resource Management from North Central College in Naperville.

Upon graduation, Andrea worked at large for-profit companies in management and merchandising. But after 7 years in Corporate America, she knew her heart belonged in animal welfare. She joined the NAHS team in February 2016.

Since a very young age, Andrea has had a passion for animals and caring for them. She’s had bunnies, birds, and fish, and even remembers taking injured animals she found to the Willowbrook Wildlife Center as a child.

In 2004 Andrea and her family actually adopted their first dog from NAHS. Niko, formerly “Buddy”, is almost 12 years old now and has lived a long, happy, healthy life as the resident Shiba Inu in their home. Andrea fell in love with the breed instantly and in November of 2013 Andrea and her husband adopted another Shiba Inu, Bailey.

Andrea, Jimmy, and Bailey reside in Woodridge and like to spend their time together at the local dog parks, animal fundraising events, meet ups with other Shiba friends, and anything they can do together with Bailey alongside! Andrea also volunteers for two Shiba Inu Rescues based out of Illinois.
