Buddy 10Y 1M Domestic Shorthair Male Available Front

I'm going to be honest with you, I don't like change.  People say it's fine, but it's not.  I came from a very quiet home so the shelter life is a bit of a shock for me.  While I might seem reserved here, my previous owners said I am gentle and cuddly.  They also said I can be playful, balls and feather toys are my favorite to play with.  While I might be OK living with another cat, I would prefer my home to be canine free.  I'm hoping you'll be able to look past my shyness and see how affectionate I can be.

Delilah 6Y 9M Domestic Shorthair Female Available Front

Did you know cats used to be worshiped? I say we bring that back and everyone treats me like the royalty I am. I can be very independent and do things at my own time and pace. Much like my ancestors before me, I like to chase and pounce at my toys. I would prefer to be the only pet in your house that way I can get all the attention to myself. I think I would like if children in my new home were a little bit older and understand that I will sometimes need my space. So if a playful, fun cat is what you're after, hurry on in to say hi!

Earl Grey 2Y 1M Domestic Shorthair Male Available No

Is Earl Grey my first and last name? Am I a British nobleman? A type of tea? Truth is, I really don’t know. What I do know is that I miss my home and my family.

I can be shy when new people come around, but with my family, I enjoy being petted and playing with toys I can chase. I’m also a fan of catnip; not all cats are, you know.

I want to be your only pet — I’m not really a fan of my own species, and I think it’s safe to say, I don’t like dogs, either. Children are okay if they’re a little older, say 8 years and up.

When you come in to meet me, don’t worry, I won’t make you bow or curtsy.

Figaro 6Y 7M Domestic Shorthair Male Adopted! No

Figaro here to tell you why you should adopt a mellow, laid-back cat like me.  I’ll be a clean and pretty quiet roommate, which is hard to find these days if you ask me.  I loved to be brushed and have my ears scratched, it feels so good!  I’m working on losing a few pounds so I can be in tip top physical health.  I hope my new family will be able to help me reach my goal.  I have lived with cats before, but I don’t know about those other large and loud animals called dogs.  UPDATE:  I've found out I do like dogs!  Well most of them anyways, so long as they aren't too forward I'm good.  I also found out I like rabbits too!  I just keep learning new things about myself here, it's amazing.  I’ve also lived with young children before.  I can’t wait to meet you!

Lyra 11Y 1M Domestic Shorthair Female Available No

Are you interested in music, astronomy, or mythology?  If you are then you already know that in Greek it means lyre or lyrical.  And that there is a whole story behind the constellation, but I won't get into those details.  After all, you're here for me, not a history lesson.  I'm used to a quiet home without many visitors and would prefer to be the only animal in my home.  According to my previous owners, I'm an independent cat so you won't need to worry about me walking across your computer.  However I would love for you to play with me.  I enjoy feather toys, toy mice, and the laser pointer.  If you're a mellow person searching for a mellow cat, I just might be the one for you.

My adoption fee is waived thanks to The Lucky 7 Fund!

Sassafrass 1Y 4M Domestic Shorthair Male Available No

I'm just your typical young adult: energetic, playful and curious.  So don't be surprised if I'm right next to you all day every day watching what you're doing. Having another young, playful cat in my new home might be really good for me.  I love to play with all types of toys such as toy mice, wand toys, and pretty much anything that makes a fun noise.  I also really enjoy having my neck and ears scratched, you'll know you hit the right spot when I start purring.  One thing I really don't like though is being picked up and held.  I prefer to have my 4 feet planted firmly on the ground thank you very much.  If an energetic and loving cat is what you're searching for, hurry in and meet me soon!

Violet 1Y 3M Domestic Shorthair Female Available No

Boy, do I have some stories to tell.  I traveled all the way from Herrin, Illinois and if you don't know where that is, well it's way down south so I don't blame you.  I made the trip because I was pregnant and wanted to make sure my kittens were given the best life possible.  And now that they have all found their homes, it's my turn!  Here are some things you should know about me:

1. Even though I'm petite, I have a big personality.

2. I am very playful and I love attention.  I'll be with you wherever you are so you can always scratch behind my ears.

3. I think I would prefer to be the only pet in your life since I'm not a big fan of sharing the attention.

I'll be waiting for you to come meet me.  I'll be wearing a violet collar so you can easily find me!
